Dealing with Dragons is the first book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. It tells about Princess Cimorene, a princess who becomes bored of being a princess and decides to run away to live with a dragon, Kazul. She becomes Kazul's princess and meets some very interesting characters along the way, such as Morwen, the witch, and Zemenar, the Head of the Society of Wizards. But it quickly becomes clear that something is amiss in the Enchanted Forest, after the King of Dragons dies and some wizards are found snooping around, and Cimorene is intent on figuring out what is going on.
